Thursday May 31, 2018; Washington, D.C.NPR Chief Operating Officer Loren Mayor announced today that Stacey Foxwell has been named Vice President of Operations at NPR. In this new role, Foxwell will oversee Security and Facilities in addition to her current responsibilities leading the NPR Administration team of executive assistants and operations managers who support the senior leadership teams, newsroom, and offices in DC, NY, Chicago and Culver City.

During her 16 years at NPR, Foxwell has forged strong relationships both inside and outside of the newsroom. When she took on oversight of the administrative team, she connected that team in new ways, emphasizing learning, collaboration, and shared professional standards across the team. During her tenure she has overseen the inception of the Public Media Platform, the launch of the Kroc Fellowship program, and the creation of the Public Media Village at industry conferences for which she won NPR's Success Award for Diversity in 2016.

"Stacey is a thoughtful and tireless leader," said Mayor. "She brings dedication and focus to a role that has direct impact on the quality of our work environment and the security and physical integrity of our offices in DC, across the country, and around the world."

"I can't wait to work with Les Holmes, our Director of Facilities and the entire team from our mail-room staff to our building engineers. I've worked so closely with Nathaniel Horton, Adam Osman and the rest of the team all these years that I already feel like part of their family," said Foxwell. "I'm equally excited to join Terry Cook, our Director of Security, to bring greater resources to that vital area. The work that Terry and our security staff do often goes unnoticed but I know I speak for all of us when I say how lucky we are to have so many great people looking out for our safety and well-being."

Prior to coming to NPR, Foxwell served in management roles with The Baltimore Sun, focusing on the paper's home delivery operations as well as customer satisfaction. Her passion for customer service comes from a decade at Pizza Hut where she worked as a waitress to put herself through college before becoming a store manager and then an area manager for 13 restaurants and delivery units in Montgomery, County, MD. She was named manager of the year for the DC, MD and VA area in 1989.
