August 27, 2019; Washington, D.C. – Dot your rib-eye's and cross your sweet-tea's, NPR's Ask Me Another is coming to Texas. In four cities next month, host Ophira Eisenberg and musician Jonathan Coulton will grease your mental gears, tune our comedy six string and serve up a Texas-sized celebrity lineup.

On September 5, join the AMA crew and special guest Robert Earl Keen at The Aztec Theatre. Singer, songwriter, and entertainer Robert Earl Keen has recorded 19 albums and performed thousands of shows. Keen is also the host and creator of the Americana Podcast: the 51st State. His music ranges from country to bluegrass to rock, and his songs have been recorded by artists including George Strait, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Montgomery Gentry, Dixie Chicks, The Highwaymen, Gillian Welch, Todd Snider and Shawn Colvin. In 2012, he was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame.

At Cullen Performance Hall on September 6, Ophira Eisenberg will invite local contestants and the audience to test their wits and brainpower to the tunes of house musician Jonathan Coulton. The special VIP guest who will take on their own Ask Me Another challenge is Emmy and Tony Award winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth. Chenoweth's career spans film, television, voiceover and stage. She received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015.

On September 7, musician Alejandro Escovedo will take Dallas' Majestic stage to compete in a variety of games spiked with trivia, word puzzles, music and pop culture. A Mexican-American kid with Texas roots and California raising taking on immigration issues in two continents with an Italian band, no less, makes perfect sense — if you know Alejandro Escovedo. He has collaborated with Bruce Springsteen, John Cale, Los Lobos, Peter Buck & Scott McCaughey, Los Texmaniacs, and Chuck Prophet. No Depression magazine declared him the Artist of the Decade.

Austin, September 9 at The Paramount Theatre - Sold Out

Austin's own Matthew McConaughey will take the celebrity puzzle hot seat at The Paramount Theatre on September 9 to close out Ask Me Another's Texas swing. McConaughey is an actor, writer, philanthropist, husband and father of three. He has won an Academy Award for Best Actor, appeared in over 40 feature films that have grossed over $1 billion dollars, and his just keep livin Foundation presently serves 37 schools in 11 states. McConaughey also serves as creative director for Wild Turkey, has co-created his own bourbon, "Longbranch," and serves as the Minister of Culture/M.O.C for the upcoming UT sports arena.
