Jimmy Katz Take Five: A Jazz Sampler Blue Note Classics In Black And White September 14, 2009 Blue Note Records is a record label for which the visuals carry almost as much artistic cachet as the music. The label's covers tend to employ generous amounts of white space, splashes of color, prominent shading and themes evoking introspection and celebration. All of that frequently translates to the music inside.

Music Interviews Andrew Hill's 'Dusk' June 27, 2000 Andrew Hill's music is challenging. Not in a thorny, avant-garde way — it's just complex. So, despite being a legend among jazz fans and musicians, he's never had a huge audience. But Hill doesn't seem to mind. He's pursued a career at his own pace. Now he has a critically-acclaimed new CD called Dusk. Tom Vitale reports. Andrew Hill's 'Dusk' Audio will be available later today.
