The Senegalese singer-songwriter fuses popular music from around the world with the traditional sounds of West African griots. It's an approach that's made Maal a global star and won him widespread acclaim in the U.S., where he's just released a collaboration with the dance band Brazilian Girls, titled Television. Hear Maal perform live at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn.
