We recently got a chance to catch up with Chicago supergroup The Sea and Cake while it was touring the West Coast in support of its ninth and latest album, The Moonlight Butterfly. The band — which features Sam Prekop's unique songwriting, singing and guitar work, as well as guitarist Archer Prewitt, bassist Eric Claridge and drummer (and indie-rock producer) John McEntire — played songs from throughout its 20-year career, including two from the new record.
