THEESatisfaction: A Rare CombinationKEXP

One of the reasons Seattle hip hop continues to thrive is its diversity. Amid the brainy culturalism of Blue Scholars, the hardcore reality of Fatal Luciano, the wild energy of Spaceman, and many other unique artists on the scene is the socially aware THEESatisfaction. Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White layer harmonious rhymes over jazz melodies and spacey electronic beats. Their lyrics cover everything from identity politics to new age-y philosophy to "leafy green," and through their chill delivery they never seem to take themselves too seriously. Check out as THEESatisfaction brings this rare combination of thoughtful and fun to KEXP's Street Sounds with Larry Mizell Jr. at the Caffe Vita Bean Room during the 2010 Capitol Hill Block Party:
