Emma Eun-joo Choi

Host, Everyone & Their Mom

Emma Eun-joo Choi is a comic, writer, "journalist" and host of the weekly short-form comedy podcast Everyone & Their Mom, a show where each week anyone including comedians, Marvin Gaye impersonators, or your parents could stop by and talk about the news.

In 2021, Choi joined Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me! as an intern where she became known for running the show's Instagram account, accidentally playing the New York Times crossword-solving music out loud during meetings and peer pressuring Peter Sagal into saying embarrassing things on air. She worked with the Wait Wait team to create the weekly short-form comedy podcast Everyone & Their Mom, which began airing in February 2022.

Equal parts comedian and writer, Choi's plays have appeared in the DC Fringe Festival and her short fiction has been featured in print, online and on her family's fridge. Currently a college student, she is set to graduate in 2023 with a major in English and a minor in tomfoolery.

Choi is from the city of lights (Vienna, Virginia). She is a proud second-generation Korean-American with just enough Korean language skills to order for her white friends at KBBQ. In her free time, Choi enjoys online shopping and bleaching her hair, and she is currently plotting an elaborate heist to steal the Hope diamond, which she hears is supposed to bring good luck.

Our friends at Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me! have a new show out with host Emma Choi. It's called Everyone & Their Mom. For her first episode, Emma is joined by comedian Josh Gondelman to discuss a saucy situation. Celebrity chef Roy Choi also joins to troubleshoot a kimchi recipe with Emma's grandma. Emma then settles an age old debate: heels or rollerblades?
