Some 7,500 vintage toys will be auctioned at Sotheby's on Friday, including toy soldiers, toy boats and a rare set of medieval knights. One of the earliest surviving Monopoly games is expected to go for between $60,000 and $80,000.

Officials: $42 Million Stolen From Holocaust Fund

The Justice Department says more than $42 million has been stolen from a fund that pays reparations to survivors of the Holocaust. Seventeen people are accused of wide-ranging fraud involving phony identification documents and other tricks. Six of the defendants worked for the organization that makes decisions on who qualifies for payments.

Troops Discharged For Being Gay Line Up To Re-Enlist

After a U.S. district judge rejected the government's latest efforts to stop her order telling the military to stop enforcing its "don't ask, don't tell" policy, recruiters have been told to accept openly gay recruits for the first time. But recruiters have also been told they must tell potential recruits this policy could change at any time, and the court could grant a stay. Still, in recent days, a number of service members who were discharged for being gay have tried to re-enlist.

New Yorkers Get TVs On Subway

In New York City, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is experimenting with new ways to raise revenue. The MTA has installed small, ten by ten-inch video screens in every car of the subway shuttle that runs between Times Square and Grand Central Terminal. The cable TV network, TBS, is paying to air its coverage of major league baseball playoff games. NPR's Margot Adler went for a ride and sent this report.

Imam 'Exploring Options' On Where To Put Mosque

The imam who hopes to create a mosque and Muslim Cultural Center two blocks from Ground Zero says he's surprised by the uproar over the project. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf says the street, which is already home to a strip club and a betting parlor, is not sacred ground. But he says he's "exploring all options" about the project's future.
