Embedded Player Just one year ago, government analysts were projecting a surplus in the federal budget of more than $5 trillion over a 10-year period. But today, the Congressional Budget Office said its latest projections predict a shortfall over the next five years, due to the biggest one-year drop in revenue since the end of World War II.
