Marty O'Donnell and his creative partner, Mike Salvatori, had a successful commercial music studio in Chicago in the 1990s. A series of unlikely coincidences led to Marty's discovery of the fledgling Bungie game studio, which was also in Chicago at the time. Marty was so intrigued by the creative possiblities that games offered that he cold-called Bungie to offer his services as a composer and sound designer on Bungie's game in development, Myth: The Fallen Lords. Sackboy, A Big Aventure is the newest game in the Little Big Planet series. In this launch title created by Sumo Digital for Sony's Play Station 5, Sackboy sets off on a quest to rescue his friends who have been kidnapped by the evil Vex and forced to work on his diabolical Topsy-Turver. Videri String Quartet Reveals Their 'Quarantets' Competition Winners

This summer the Videri String Quartet launched a competition, Quarantets, as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and their separation from each other as performers. The competition solicited string quartet arrangements of music from video games that were set in a post-apocolyptic world, or other circumstances in which life suddenly changed. After judging over 60 entries, the winners were chosen to create an album that will be released soon. I talked with the performers for this project:
