How To Make Any Song Swing

Miguel Rojo/AFP/Getty ImagesWell, sort of. At the San Francisco edition of Music Hack Day, a fellow named Tristan Jehan presented something called The Swinger. It's basically an algorithm which takes a piece of recorded music, elongates the first half of the beat, shrinks the second half, and makes it "swing."
At his blog, Paul Lamere showed off a few amusing examples of this technology. A few of my favorites are embedded after the jump:
The Police, "Every Breath You Take"
Guns N' Roses, "Sweet Child O' Mine"
And a gift that never stops giving: Lady Gaga, "Telephone"
Ok, now all of you can tell me how this isn't actually "swinging." I know. I still think it's amusing. [Music Machinery: The Swinger] (H/T Lars Gotrich and Metal Sucks)
