For most of Neon Indian's debut, Psychic Chasms, frontman Alan Palomo is barely audible. Swaddled in a range of 8-bit blips and bleeps, he gets you dancing, but there's really no need to know his inner workings. With his new album, Era Extraña, Palomo's a little older, maybe a little wiser, and definitely ready to be heard.

Going full on electro-pop for "Polish Girl," Palomo uses a soundscape that seems to encompass all your favorite Nintendo games. Singing about a particularly forgetful girl he manages to express the frustrations of spending all his time on the road.

"Polish Girl" goes up for sale on iTunes August 4. Era Extraña is out September 13 on Static Tongues/ Mom + Pop Music.
