The Future Of Multi-Touch
When Apple launched the iPad, it came with pretty much the same gestural interface as the iPhone, things like pinch to zoom and swipe to unlock. I have to say I was disappointed because, I thought, what made the iPhone really special was that it introduced us to a user interface that was incredibly intuitive and amazingly easy. So, naturally, I thought the iPad would go a step further and introduce more of these gestures.
Well, the guys over at Modesty is Lying got down with the iPad and found that it supports eleven simultaneous touch events. If you have a fairly new Mac laptop, you'll know that you use one to three four fingers to do all kinds of things. Imagine the possibility of using all ten fingers. With technology like this a clever designer could make a traditional keyboard obsolete.
