Get Your Upgrade On: iOS 4 Is Here

Apple released its iOS 4 earlier today and the early reviews are in. The update is solid enough, but it’s nothing earth shattering. Out of the 100+ improvements, it looks like three or four biggies make the upgrade worthwhile.
The big question was whether multitasking would live up to the hype. Michael deAgonia at Computerworld was pleased with the new ability to multitask third-party apps, even if it isn’t like the “full-on” capabilities you get with OS X. He also praised iOS 4’s improved application management, which allows you to organize applications into separate folders.
But Jacqui Cheng at Ars Technica, wasn’t particularly impressed with the multitasking, calling the iPhone "the most limited" of all the smartphones in this area.
Meanwhile, Mac World’s Dan Frakes liked that there’s an All Inbox — one inbox that aggregates the mail from all of your addresses — but was disappointed that “there’s no way to tell which account received a particular message.”
What do you think? Let us know how you and your iPhone or iPod Touch are liking the new operating system.
