It's still our first week here at NPR's new classical blog, Deceptive Cadence, and we still haven't concocted a fancy mission statement. But if we had one, it would be something like: Let's listen to music and talk about it. That is to say, we want to bring musicians, composers, and music lovers, like you, together to have conversations about the music we love.

With that in mind, on Monday Sept. 20, from noon to 1 p.m. EST, we'll be hosting a live web chat with composer Jennifer Higdon and violinist Hilary Hahn.

Higdon dedicated her Pulitzer-winning violin concerto to Hahn, and we're looking forward to hearing them talk about that collaboration. You'll be able to ask them questions too by joining the live chat room on these pages.

In the meantime, you can prepare for the chat by checking out Hahn's new album (released September 21st) as a part of our "First Listen" series. It's a fascinating match-up between the Higdon concerto -- which is really something to hear -- and Hahn's thoughtful approach to Tchaikovsky's classic concerto.

If you have burning questions for Hahn and Higdon right now, go for it. Ask away in the comments section below.
