And they're having even more fun with his attempt to revise and extend his remark.

Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert Ridicule Sen. Kyl On Planned Parenthood

If you're seeking some comic relief, and you're not Sen. Jon Kyl, look no further than Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

The comedians took after the Arizona Republican for his wild misstatement during last week's shutdown showdown of the percentage of Planned Parenthood's services that is abortion related.

Kyl initially said it was more than 90 percent though the actual percentage is more like three percent.

Later Kyl's office issued a statement that only made matters worse. It said the lawmaker's words "were not intended to be a factual statement."

Both comics ridicule Kyl by making fantastical statements about him, then following with the not-intended-to-be-factual disclaimer.

And Colbert is keeping the riff alive by serving up tweets to the Twitter hashtag #NotiItendedToBeAFactualStatement on which he introduces new canards frequently, just like so many others who are having fun at Kyl's expense at that hashtag.

Some examples from Colbert:

Jon Kyl was sent from the future to kill Sarah Conner.

Jon Kyl is an accomplished nude hula dancer. He is not welcome in Hawaii.

For the past ten years, Jon Kyl has been two children in a very convincing Jon Kyl suit.
