Music Review: 'The Trouble With Being Myself' from Macy Gray July 15, 2003 Critic Tom Moon reviews the new CD by Macy Gray. He includes Gray among a group of "neo-soul" artists — contemporary R&B musicians that have hit pay dirt by consciously emulating the sounds and songwriting devices of classic soul. The Trouble With Being Myself, evokes the sounds of Chaka Khan, Al Green and the Jackson Five. Music Review: 'Body Kiss' from the Isley Brothers June 13, 2003 Music critic Jim Fusilli takes a listen to the new Isley Brothers record, Body Kiss, available on the Dreamworks label. The Isley Brothers have had many hits since the 1950s, including "Twist and Shout," "This Old Heart of Mine" and "Who's That Lady." Now they have a new record of romance and soul produce by R. Kelly. Fusilli says the album is best when it sticks to seduction and works least when it treats women as pampered objects.
