NPR announces Network Growth team

Today NPR is announcing a new Network Growth team that will focus on growing collective audience and revenue support for NPR and our network of Member stations through podcasts and on-demand audio and other revenue-generating concepts. This new team's work is a key aspect of accelerating NPR's engagement with younger and more diverse audiences, the North Star in our Strategic Plan.

The Network Growth team will oversee the business strategies for expanding the NPR+ podcast subscription service and the NPR+ Bundle to grow station membership and revenue. The Network Growth team also will ensure there is strategic alignment across the organization for positioning NPR One as a driver of audience and support for NPR and the Network, for furthering the growth of NPR's award-winning voice platforms, and for exploring podcast opportunities between NPR and Member stations.

Bryan Moffett will serve in a new role as Senior Vice President of Network Growth for NPR, in addition to continuing in his current role as Chief Operating Officer of National Public Media. Joel Sucherman, who most recently oversaw the launch of NPR's podcast subscription service, expands his Vice President role to Vice President, Audio Platform Strategy, and will lead a newly formed Audio Platform Team in this new division. In his 12 years at NPR, Joel has been a critical driver of NPR's most innovative strategic initiatives, including creating a team that gave voice to much of public radio on Alexa and Google Home devices, the build and launch of NPR's personalized news platform NPR One, and a transformational effort to introduce blogging/digital journalism to many of NPR's largest Member stations.

Developing the NPR Network framework and driving new revenue to Member stations is a priority for 2022, and will require an organization-wide approach to continue the work. These changes will complement and accelerate work already underway in Member Partnership, Development, and other teams at NPR and with key system stakeholders on a broader NPR Network strategy.
