In a note to newsroom staff Senior Director of On-Demand News Programming Neal Carruth announced the following update:

Dear colleagues:

I'm writing to share the news that Jessica Reedy is now the supervising producer of Pop Culture Happy Hour

Jessica has been a strong editorial leader for PCHH, helping to evolve the sound of the show, expand the range of topics it covers, and remain nimble responding to news. She's also been keenly focused on developing the members of the production and hosting teams. And she's given many other people from inside NPR (including Eric Deggans, Neda Ulaby, Mallory Yu, J.C. Howard, and LaTesha Harris) and outside NPR (including Daisy Rosario, jarrett hill, Tre'vell Anderson, Joelle Monique, and Monica Castillo) the opportunity to display their talents as panelists, contributing to the show's success.

Jessica has been an essential part of the PCHH team since 2014. She has led the show through a period of tremendous audience growth, working closely with hosts Linda Holmes, Aisha Harris, Stephen Thompson, and Glen Weldon as the podcast has gone from publishing once a week to two times per week to publishing every weekday. The PCHH staff has also grown, adding producers Mike Katzif and Candice Lim.

PCHH has attracted a passionate and loyal fan base. It's no surprise that it reigns supreme as the top TV & Film podcast on the Podtrac ranker. PCHH has also become a critical part of NPR's "daily habit" news podcast portfolio, which includes Up FirstConsider ThisThe NPR Politics PodcastThe Indicator from Planet MoneyShort Wave, and the Book of the Day podcast.

In addition to the news about Jessica, I'm excited to announce that PCHH will be adding a new production assistant to the team. Please check out the details here and let us know if you are interested in the job.

I first had the pleasure of working with Jessica when she was an intern on All Things Considered over a decade ago. It's been amazing to see her develop over the course of her career at NPR. Please join me in congratulating Jessica on this new role.
