Dear All,

I'm pleased to announce that journalist Vincent Ni is joining the International Desk as Asia editor.

Vincent is joining NPR from The Guardian newspaper where he was its China affairs correspondent, writing about the politics, economy and changing society of the world's most populous nation. Prior to The Guardian, Vincent spent seven years at the BBC. He worked across platforms and launched an internal forum called BBC Asia Brief. In 2019 he created and edited Asia Matters podcast, which was acquired by the Brussels School of Governance in 2022.

As a correspondent, Vincent has reported from the Middle East, Europe and Asia. He also reported from the US on the 2012 and 2016 presidential elections. He has been selected as a Yale World Fellow and a Marshall Memorial Fellow. When not working, he enjoys hiking and travelling. He aspires to be a food critic, which means he always hunts out the best restaurants in the places he visits.

Please join me in welcoming Vincent. His first day is Oct. 18.
