Bristol And Levi Are Engaged, Again; World Comes To An End
I guess if Alvin Greene could win the Democratic Senate primary in South Carolina, then anything is possible.
And in that category, here's the latest for the "anything is possible" file: Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are engaged. Again. They made the announcement to Us Weekly magazine. "We got engaged two weeks ago," Bristol, 19, said. "It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents."
Uh, oh. Her mom doesn't approve? Doesn't Bristol know about hockey moms and pit bulls?
Their son, Tripp, was born in December 2008, a month after Sarah Palin ended her, well, fascinating campaign as the Republican nominee for vice president. Two weeks after the birth, Bristol and Levi, who is 20, called off their engagement. But they "reconnected" three months ago.
Us Weekly spells out what comes next:
Now comes the hard part: Getting the blessing of Sarah Palin, who has made no secret of her feelings for Levi. He provoked her fury last fall when he claimed that she had called her infant son Trig (who has Down syndrome) "retarded." She fired back, telling reporters that anyone who posed for Playgirl would "say and do anything for even more attention." Later, during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, she dubbed him "Ricky Hollywood" and called his "aspiring porn" career "heartbreaking."
Says Bristol, "It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be. Hopefully she will jump on board."
The Associated Press reports that Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, said in a statement on Today "that they want what's best for their children and that Bristol believes in 'redemption and forgiveness.'"
