Snooki & The Straight Talker, Twitter BFFs

Twitter is so random. Sometimes it's tiresome, and sometimes it's awesome.  Like how it connected Jersey Shore tannaholic Snooki with Sen. John McCain, of the Straight Talk Express.

In a preview for the new season of her show, Snooki expressed her deepest feelings about the health care bill -- specifically, the federal tax on tanning salons -- commenting,

"I don’t go tanning anymore because Obama put a 10% tax on tanning," she said. "And I feel like he did that intentionally for us."

And further...

"McCain would never put a 10% tax on tanning because he’s pale and he’d probably want to be tan."

McCain's daughter, Meghan, mentioned the comments and suggested he respond on Twitter.  He did!

@Sn00ki u r right, I would never tax your tanning bed! Pres Obama’s tax/spend policy is quite The Situation. but I do rec wearing sunscreen!

Yup.  Reached out to Snooki AND name-dropped her castmate, Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino.

And to bring it all full-circle? Meghan interviewed Snooki for The Daily Beast. But it doesn't look like Republicans should look for a blanket endorsement from the bronzed one.

To be honest with you, I’m not really a Republican or a Democrat. I actually signed up as an independent, just because I don’t want to pick any side and also I don’t really know a lot about politics. I only know politics about, like, you know, tanning and being a Guidette. So when I saw it was Obama and McCain, to be honest with you, the only reason why I voted for your father was because he was really cute and I liked when he did his speeches.

Nice.  Straight talk from Snooki, for sure!
