Obama Nominates Francis Collins To Be NIH Head

Dr. Francis Collins, the famed geneticist who headed the Human Genome Project which mapped all the genes that make humans, was nominated to head the National Institutes of Health by President Barack Obama.
Not only is Collins known for his work at the genome project but also for his research which helped identify a number of genes responsible for cystic fibrosis and Type 2 diabetes.
Collins is also frequently cited as a scientist who openly proclaims his faith in God. His 2006 book, "The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief" was a New York Times best seller.
