Amtrak Service In And Out Of NYC Halted

This is just what many folks in the northeast absolutely don't want to hear two days before Christmas:

"Amtrak power problems have halted trains coming in and out of New York City," the Associated Press reports.

It adds that "some trains are stranded just outside Penn Station, and others are stuck between Newark and New York City."

Update at 3 p.m. ET: Amtrak says it's starting to restore service, but that it expects delays will continue through the day.
