Avatar Earns Most Money Ever, Beating Titanic

James Cameron has done it. The director of the film, Avatar, beat the record for the previously all-time grossing film, Titanic, directed by - James Cameron. Twentieth Century Fox says Avatar has earned nearly two billion dollars around the world. It opened December 18 and apparently attracted just about everybody with its choice of 2 or 3D versions.

Nevertheless, NPR's Alison Bryce says Avatar still isn't Number One:
