Here's The Snow; Watch It Pile Up
The first fresh flakes just started to fall in my backyard, as what the weather folks say is going to be quite a blizzard over the next 36 hours or so makes its way into northern Virginia.
All the news about airport closings, travel warnings and last-minute crowds at grocery stores is here.
Meanwhile, I've got my yardstick out in the grass. Here's what things look like starting now (10 a.m. ET on Friday). I'll try to add a shot every hour or so (during the day) as the snow accumulates. Feel free to share your snow stories in the comments thread.
Update at 3:30 p.m. ET, Feb. 6: It feels like the storm may be about over for us. See the latest two shots in the slideshow.
Update at 8 a.m. ET, Feb. 6: Wow! As you'll see now in the slide show, we really got dumped on overnight.
Update at 6 p.m. ET: It's dark here now, so I'll hold off until the morning to add more photos to the slide show. How many more inches will there be by then? We'll see.
Update at 1:15 p.m. ET: For fun, I've added a little classical music to the slide show.
Update at 12:15 p.m. ET: So far, it looks like we've had a little less than two inches.
Update at 11:15 a.m. ET: Now that I have a second shot, I'm switching to a slide show format. More to come!
