Jenny Sanford Says The Governor Wouldn't Promise To Be Faithful
South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford "refused to promise to be faithful" when he married his wife Jenny, ABC News reports this morning.
"It bothered me to some extent, but ... we were very young, we were in love," Jenny Sanford tells Barbara Walters in an interview set to air on 20/20 this Friday. "I questioned it, but I got past it ... along with other doubts that I had."
Here's a video teaser ABC has posted about the interview:
Sanford, a Republican, infamously disappeared from the state last spring. Aides thought he was hiking the Appalachian Trail. It turned out he was seeing a mistress in Argentina. After more than 20 years of marriage, the Sanfords are getting divorced. She has a new book.
