With Unanimous Senate Confirmation, Gen. David Petraeus Heads To Afghanistan
One day after Gen. David Petraeus testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee, the full Senate has voted unanimously -- 99-0 -- to confirm him as the next Commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and U.S. forces in Afghanistan, replacing Gen. Stanley McChrystal.

According to The Washington Post, Petraeus has been busy since he was nominated, talking regularly with Amb. Richard C. Holbrooke and Afghanistan's president, Hamid Karzai; having dinner with Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, in Tampa, Florida, the home of the United States Central Command (US CENTCOM); and planning to travel with Amb. Karl Eikenberry.
