We reported earlier on the workplace shooting deaths of nine people, including the gunman who apparently killed himself, at a beer and wine distributorship near Hartford, Conn.
While there was a report that the shooter, an African American employee named Omar Thornton, 34, had complained of racial harassment, a union official tells a different story. Thornton, who was videotaped stealing beer from Hartford Distibutors, was asked to resign, according to Christopher Roos, an official of Teamsters Local 1035.
