Primary results are in for four states - here's a sampling of the more closely watched contests. Incumbent Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet won the Democratic primary contest over former Colorado house speaker Andrew Romanoff; he'll face Republican winner Ken Buck who won a tight contest against former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton.

Businessman Dan Maes is Colorado's GOP gubernatorial candidate, while Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper is the Democratic winner.  Also running: former Republican congressman Tom Tancredo, the American Constitution Party candidate.

In Connecticut, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal won the Democratic nomination for the Senate; he'll face Republican candidate Linda McMahon, the former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO.

In Minnesota, the AP has called the Democratic gubernatorial race for former state lawmaker Mark Dayton but House Speaker and rival, Margaret Anderson Kelliher has not conceded. Dayton has a lead of about 4,500 votes and called himself 'cautiously optimistic'.

It's too close to call in Georgia's Republican gubernatorial primary. Former Congressman Nathan Deal (supported by Newt Gingrich) claims a tiny lead over former Secretary of State Karen Handel (supported by Sarah Palin). His lead is less than 2,500 votes.
