Kermit Goes To The Smithsonian : The Two-Way Original Kermit donated to Smithsonian Museum of American History

Kermit Goes To The Smithsonian

I nearly missed this this week: Jane Henson, the widow of Muppets creator Jim Henson, donated the original Kermit the Frog and several other Muppets to the Smithsonian's Museum of American History.  Kermit first appeared on Washington television in 1955 as part of 'Sam and Friends', along with Pierre the French Rat and Yorick, a possible early version of Cookie Monster. He later rocketed to super stardom with hits like 'It's Not Easy, Being Green' and lectured on subjects such as the letter 'W'. Here's one of my favs: Kermit with LadySmith Black Mambazo.
