From the summit of world leaders in France, Reuters reports that:
"Russia is ready to mediate in the Libyan crisis following a request from its partners in the Group of Eight, a senior Russian official told reporters. ...
And, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov added, "Col. Gaddafi has deprived himself of legitimacy with his actions, we should help him leave. There are no disagreements about that with G8 partners, although the tone may differ.'
As The Associated Press notes, up to now "Russian officials have been critical of Gadhafi but also complained about what they called an excessive use of force by NATO and urged a quick end to hostilities."
Meanwhile, Bloomberg News reports that Gadhafi is "shuttling between Tripoli's hospitals to elude nighttime raids by NATO jets," according to an unnamed "European government official."
