Our Sense of Place: Toronto feature continues with Wednesday's guest, veteran indie-rock musician Brendan Canning. Canning and songwriter-musician Kevin Drew co-founded the sprawling Toronto collective Broken Social Scene, which has been on hiatus since 2011.
Never one to stay idle, Canning has since worked on a number of side projects, including DJing, working with the band Cookie Duster, and even recording the score for the recent dramatic movie thriller The Canyons.
You Gots 2 Chill is Canning's new solo album, a follow-up to 2008's Something for All of Us. He brings together a special band just for this studio session.
Follow this month's Sense of Place feature through World Cafe's Tumblr blog, where we'll post photos, videos and more.
