Our final session from Toronto for our Sense of Place series is with Ron Sexsmith and his band. Sexsmith walked around the corner from his house in Toronto's West End to the studio for a set mostly drawn from his new disc, Forever Endeavor.

Sexmith came to Toronto in his 20s to play open mics and join a burgeoning singer-songwriter scene. Self-released discs led to 1995's self-titled album, a masterpiece.

Sexsmith played "Secret Heart" from that album for us and talked about not knowing Feist's cover until he first heard her sing it.
