The Seven Deadly Sins The collection of vices known as the Seven Deadly Sins were thought to take one's thoughts away from God, and lead to further sin. The Seven Deadly Sins date back to the 6th century, and were attributed to Gregory the Great by 13th century theologian St. Thomas Aquinas.
