October 1, 2012 • For the second year in a row, fears of massive traffic tie-ups in Los Angeles because of demolition work were unfounded. Drivers stayed away from the area and "carmageddon" became "carma-what?"

Traffic jams didn't materialize last year during a similar closure. But there's a new concern this year: helicopters swarming overhead to watch the demolition work.

July 18, 2011 • Much like The Rapture that didn't happen on May 21, the much-publicized "Carmageddon" in Los Angeles over this past weekend seems to been much ado about nothing. But be warned: It's all going to happen again next summer. "Carmaggedon II," anyone?

Maybe An Early End To 'Carmageddon?'

July 15, 2011 • A 10-mile section of heavily traveled I-405 in Los Angeles closes this evening and isn't scheduled to reopen until early Monday. But officials are cautiously optimistic that work will go well and traffic might be able to flow again a little earlier.

June 30, 2011 • From the evening of July 15 through the early hours of the 17th, 10 miles of the 405 Freeway will be closed. Officials hope Lady Gaga, Ashton Kutcher and others will help urge folks to stay away from the area.
