Making her fourth appearance on Mountain Stage, folksinger Carrie Newcomer performs a set of songs culled from her 11th album, The Geography of Light, with the help of pianist Gary Walters.

Originally from Indiana, Newcomer specializes in capturing what Mountain Stage host Larry Groce calls the "profundity of the mundane" — looking for life's most complex answers amid its most routine moments. Inspired by a circle of spiritual authors and theologians (including Parker J. Palmer, Phillip Gulley and Jim Wallis), The Geography of Light is the result of a literary and spiritual journey.
