Pasadena Paper May Outsource 'Local' Coverage
Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.
A Web site in Pasadena, California has taken outsourcing to a new level. It advertised for a newspaper journalist to report on Pasadena's city government and politics, and this local reporter is supposed to be based in India -really. The publisher says it makes sense now that City Council meetings are available on the Web. As if that wasn't enough information, the India-based correspondent in the Pasadena bureau can email anybody he wants for an interview.
It's MORNING EDITION.
