3rd Grade Letters/Revisited -- NPR's Margot Adler visits with teacher Nancy Johnson who has a unique way of keeping in touch with her former students. She asks her second and third graders to write a letter to themselves...the letter covers things like their favorite toys, what makes them different from other kids and what they want to do in the future. Then she mails the letters to her former pupils just before they graduate from high school. About a quarter of the teenagers write her back and some even meet with her in person.
