Brave Dames & Wimpettes Liane is joined by author and screenwriter Susan Isaacs. In her latest book, "Brave Dames and Wimpettes: What Women Are Really Doing on Page and Screen," (Ballantine) Isaacs examines the role of women characters in American movies, television, and literature. Isaacs has created certain criteria for these two types of women's roles: a 'brave dame" is a woman who is passionate for something other than passion, is a true friend and stands by her morals in the face of adversity. And she defines a "wimpette" as someone who defines herself in terms of her "man," betrays her women friends, and schemes to get what she wants.
