Anti-Dropout Crusade At a time when many students and parents are focused on back-to-school efforts, some people are trying the minimize the number of dropouts. In Chicago, Jesse Jackson's Rainbow/PUSH coalition is urging families to sign pledges to stay in school. Others are aiming to bring down a particularly high dropout rate among Hispanic youth. But, a robust economy is enticing some kids to leave high school and collect a reasonably sized paycheck. NPR's David Welna reports.
