China - Lockheed The Lockheed Martin Corporation is the latest US aerospace company to face charges of exporting sensitive technology to China. The State Department says the giant defense contractor helped a Chinese company improve a faulty rocket motor as part of a satellite-launching agreement. In theory at least, that rocket motor might be used to launch ballistic missiles instead. China has been under suspicion of stealing US military technology through espionage. But so far, some of the most clearly documented cases of technology transfers have taken place through business deals. NPR's Steve Inskeep reports.
