In her seventh appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded in May 2007, Boston-based singer-songwriter Lucy Kaplansky performs songs from her sixth album, Over the Hills. Kaplansky came of age artistically in the New York folk scene, which also nurtured artists like Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, John Gorka and others. She took a detour and became a psychologist, but soon realigned herself with her artistic pursuits and became a full-time folk singer.
