Kidnapping in Mexico Mexico's economy has slumped along with that of the United States, But one industry that continues to boom is kidnapping. Mexico is now the second most dangerous country in that regard, behind Colombia. Unlike Colombia, Mexico's kidnappings are not politically motivated. Criminals are after money. For years only the wealthiest were targeted. Now crime gangs are scooping up just about anyone. NPR's Gerry Hadden reports from Mexico City.
