Court Appearance A man who allegedly tried to set off explosives on a trans-Atlantic flight was ordered today to be held in federal custody until another hearing in Boston on Friday. The suspect, named in court papers as Richard Reid, faces charges of interfering with a flight crew on Saturday. If convicted he could face 20 years in prison. In light of Saturday's incident, the Federal Aviation Administration has ordered all airports to step up security and screening of passengers, paying particular attention to their shoes.
