Mayor Cianci
A jury convicted Providence, R.I., Mayor Vincent "Buddy" Cianci Junior of racketeering and conspiracy on Monday.Charges included extortion, bribery and mail fraud. Despite a poll showing that most people in Providence think he's guilty, Cianci's popularity and approval rating remain high. Cianci was cleared of eleven charges and will appeal the racketeering conviction. He also plans to run for re-election. Martha Beninger reports for member station WRNI.
