VA Schools Closed After Sniper Shooting

NPR's Claudio Sanchez reports that schools in the Richmond, Virginia, area remain closed in an effort to protect students following last Saturday's sniper attack. The shootings began in Maryland nearly three weeks ago, schools there have suspended all outdoor activities, field trips and athletic events. As schools continue with safety plans designed for singular threats, not sustained threats, educators wonder how long school life can function under siege.
