Pakistani-American Arrested In Car Bomb Attempt
STEVE INSKEEP, Host:
Here's a story we're following throughout this morning. Federal authorities say they caught a man accused of driving a car loaded with explosives into New York City's Times Square. Faisal Shahzad was arrested around midnight. He was at New York's Kennedy Airport. He was about to board a flight for Dubai. Attorney General Eric Holder made the announcement early this morning but revealed only a few details.
ERIC HOLDER: Because of the fast- moving nature of this investigation, I am not able to make any further information public at this time. But the American people should know that we are deploying every resource available, and we will not rest until we have brought everyone responsible to justice.
INSKEEP: Authorities have said one thing: The suspect, Faisal Shahzad, is an American citizen of Pakistani origin. Authorities are promising more information as this day goes on.
