Montblanc Celebrates John Lennon With A Pen
STEVE INSKEEP, Host:
If you have any money left over after buying your used cars, you might want to consider buying a pen. That's our last word in business today.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of John Lennon's birth. And for the occasion, the pen maker Montblanc just came out with a special pen - a very special pen. The John Lennon model goes for $27,000. It has diamonds and sapphires and on its side, the word "imagine" is written in white gold.
If you can't imagine spending $27,000 on a pen, a cheaper model has black resin, like the records that Lennon once made. And it has a gold tip that's engraved with a peace sign.
Montblanc says it will donate proceeds from the pen to support music education.
