Plans for Nuclear Waste Dump Hit a Snag
The Department of Energy's controversial plan to build a nuclear waste dump at Yucca Mountain in Nevada hit a major snag this week.
A federal judge ruled that Nevada could withhold the water that the Department of Energy needs for drilling at the Yucca Mountain site — about 90 miles north of Las Vegas.
